Jo & Ryo Collective
Does anyone know where I can find the stories that used to be archived at the Jo & Ryo Collective? The site has gone down (presumably due to lack of activity), and near-frantic googling has yielded no results. I absolutely love their stories (especially A Winning Strategy) and am jonesing to read them again.

Any help would be appreciated!

Have you tried the Wayback Machine?

Yeah, the owner of the site (where Jo&Ryo and other authors were hosted) has chosen not to renew it due to cost and lack of interest. Pretty sure unless you find a general WW archive somewhere that actually kept the fic rather than a link they have no other place online.

Here is a link to A Winning Strategy. http://national-library.net/seriesresults.php?series=82

You can find other Jo & Ryo stories on the same National Library site.

That site appears to link to the missing site. At least, the story pages do not load.

The stories are in the process of being archived at the National Library in place of the dead link. Hopefully they should be up soon but the owner of TNL has gone dark and we can't establish contact. Fingers crossed for a temporary glitch!

Well...let's try this. Some of Jo March's fanfics can be found at: http://archive.westwingstories.com/author/authorJes_Jz.htm Just scroll down to her name.

Some of Ryo's fics can be found at: http://archive.westwingstories.com/author/authorRo_Rz.htm Again, just scroll down to her name.

Also, I don't know if you have ever heard of the Josh & Donna Yahoo Group, but they have most of the J&D fics that were ever written. You have to be a member and I'm not sure how hard that is these days when there isn't much action going on in the group. I still have access and would be happy to save some of the stories and put them someplace where you can access them if anyone is interested.

I'll keep looking for some of the other stuff and update this post if I find them.

Easy enough to join the Yahoo groups - new members are always being approved:)

Not sure about the ethics of archiving material from that site to another location without the author's permission. When Crossroads was being set up, the owner emailed every writer to seek permission. Some gave it, some didn't.

I wasn't planning on putting the story on another site. More like putting the story in a private dropbox to pick up for someone that requests it. Something thousands of people do for dying fandoms and dying links for fanfics.

I was trying to be helpful but as I have often discovered in TWW fandoms, I shouldn't have bothered.

Yikes! No need to get snarky. Or throw a pity party! I pointed out how sites like Crossroads seek permission, a perfectly reasonable step to take-not to mention good mannered and respectful to the author. Something sadly lacking in many fandoms!

Yikes! No need to get all hostile and passive agressive and throw false accusations out there.

No one here was being snarky or throwing a pity party. I offered to help, was passive aggressively insulted by you in doing so, so I said I shouldn't have bothered. No snark, no pity. Just a lesson I was reminded of from a long time ago with the TWW community. It won't happen again.

Oh dear! If anyone was aggressive and hostile it was you - I pointed out something to think about and got jumped on. But maybe it all got lost in not being able to see body language and hear tone? I can understand it if you felt that I had touched a sensitive point - it is human nature to respond defensively. And maybe we are at cross purposes with either cultural or language differences? In my circle, a comment about "I shouldn't have bothered' is generally regarded as a feeling of pity (or 'spitting the dummy" - what a wonderful expression that is,lol). If it isn't the same in your culture/language then we can learn from each other - one of the beauties of the Web,lol. The English language is a precise tool and one that can be enjoyed and explored.

Hi! It's Jo here
As Cassie mentioned, the person running the website has taken it down. I've had some real-world stuff going on and haven't been able to get around to posting any of our old stuff elsewhere. I'll start putting the stories back up on my lj since I have some free time during the holidays. (As soon as I figure out where I stored the flash drive with the stories on it. )

And thanks to everyone who asked! I'm amazed that anyone still wants to read our stuff after all these years!

OMG, I can't believe you found this thread Jo!

Please, if you could do the world a favour and upload all your fics to your lj that would be so fantastic. I was devastated when I went to find fwf and it was gone - so many great fics!

I'm sure there are heaps of people like me who like to go back and read the classics.

Re: Hi! It's Jo here
To jump on this thread way late, I just concluded a West Wing rewatch and found myself reeeeeeeally wanting to go back and read some stuff form your old collection, which I'd known was unfortunately taken down. If there's anywhere the stories are planning on being archived (AO3, LJ), please do let us know. I'm sure there's still plenty of interest for those stories.

Thanks again for considering putting them back up! I have great memories of them!

Re: Hi! It's Jo here
I was desperately combing the internet for a way to find your fics today and happened upon this thread (and your LJ by way of it). I've been hunting working links to the Exit Strategy series for a long while now. Any chance you'll be adding those to LJ?

Re: Hi! It's Jo here
I'm hoping to get that done in the next week or so. I've put the first two ES stories up on AO3.

Re: Hi! It's Jo here
Can you believe I never thought to look for you guys on AO3?!? Back when I was kicking in in the WW fandom, AO3 wasn't even a thing. Hell, it took me a long time to embrace LJ - that's what I get for being an old dog in an internet full of new tricks!

Thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction!

Did you ever find the stories--- I have been looking too!

Well, that seems a little unfriendly.

Re Party Verse
Hi Jo, I'm hoping that you put up the Party Verse stories as well, please, please, please. I am a fan of you and Ryo and have everything except Party Verse.
